There is something truly magical about the Dandenongs – the fern gullies, winding roads, protective shade and sweet little towns. Each time I’d come home from Paris,  I’d ask my Mum drive me to Miss Marple’s – mostly for scones and Welsh rarebit, but also for the cool rainforest-like air, watching the trees tower above and the city appear far in the distance from the unexpected altitude.

Last week we had some people to see up in Olinda, so why not make a day of it, strapping on the GoPro ? We zoomed up to Skyhigh, then Olinda, Sassafras and Silvan, taking videos and photos the whole way. It is perhaps even more magical than I remember, and always worth whatever excuse to come up!
